Welcome!

My name is Darius—Mental Health Professional, Afro-Creole Spiritualist, and Embodied Self-Awareness Practitioner of Anjali Healing Arts. I am here to offer you my life-and-soul-work, which has been forged through 17 years’ clinical experience supported by several more decades of psycho-spiritual and professional growth and development.

Very early in my academic and professional careers, I often struggled to fully integrate and assimilate into the field of psychology as it is traditionally taught and practiced. Eventually, I learned I’d been indoctrinated—trained in, practicing, and unwittingly modeling to clients a colonial mindset and approach to therapy and mental health—and needed to divorce and heal myself from the capitalist and Eurocentric worldview and paradigm of Western academia and psychotherapy. I unbound myself from bureaucratic boards and oppressive institutions that repeatedly tied and forced my hands while also bleeding me morally and financially. I embraced and embarked on the ethical duty to decolonize—myself and my practice—by unlearning the internalized colonial programming that taught me to disembody, dismiss, and disown time-honored healing practices of my ancestral lineage and other indigenous wisdom and traditions.

Today, I embody, enjoy, and encourage the freedom to facilitate and participate in fully integrative healing modalities—no longer obligated to provide potentially damaging diagnoses in order to justify a client’s need, right to, and desire for personal development. My professional offerings and endeavors are equally energized by my personal journey and passion for helping others who struggle to align with insidious perspectives and practices that have influenced their mindset and negated their native inclinations, experiences, and existence. I take immense pride in working with dedicated clients who want to divest themselves of colonial conditioning and explore unconventional and indigenous life-enhancing tools designed to help reclaim and maintain, retain and refine, or re-define and realign with their most natural state of mind-body-spirit health and wellness.

My extensive clinical training and ongoing professional development—in addition to firsthand experience with numerous ancestral, indigenous, and spirit-centered philosophies and practices—reinforce my proficient use of these healing arts as a therapeutic gift, or anjali, to students and clients alike. The anjali is what makes my approach to assisted self-inquiry, embodied self-awareness, and holistic health not only integrative and transpersonal but also cutting-edge, dynamic, effective, and transformational.

Let’s work together to deepen your self-awareness & embodiment, awaken your somatic & spiritual intelligence, and catalyze your holistic health & wellbeing.
